To celebrate the Qixi Festival 2025 on August 29th, Julie's Coffee and Tea Garden (@juliesteagarden), Shannon (@shannoncooksalameda), Dr. Ge Bai (@f.g.musicart), and Ms. Fan Lu (@fanluart) will collaborate and co-host a special cross-cultural event for the local community in Alameda, California. It integrated with Chinese poetry, mythology, music, art, tea-tasting, and dessert.
白舸Dr. Ge Bai (Samuel) is a musician and performer who was previously a scientist. He is now a science educator, music educator, composer, and songwriter. Notably, Dr. Bai is also a descendant of the renowned poet Bai Juyi (白居易) from the Tang Dynasty. Dr. Bai will bring a rich cultural heritage of poetry and insightful inspiration to this event; he will also perform various traditional Chinese musical instruments and Western ones, including both classical music and his compositions.
陆帆Ms. Fan Lu will set up an art table where participants can explore Chinese calligraphy and painting. Additionally, she will display original artwork and themed art products.
Shannon will create a modern mix with both traditional and creative style red bean dessert and provide an introduction to paired tea-tasting, featuring selected Chinese teas from Julie's Coffee and Tea Garden collection.
Seize the opportunity of this curious adventure of the time gathering, not only celebrating Qixi Festival, but also immersing in cultural experiences, blending Eastern and Western cultures, traveling long back through history, and living in the moment.
Look forward to your participation, and we can co-create beautiful, meaningful, and enriching memories.
烟霄微月澹长空,银汉秋期万古同。
几许欢情与离恨,年年并在此霄中。

Join us for a creative arts worship event that combines natural science picture books, live music, and art experiments. Dr. Ge Bai (Samuel) and Ms. Fan Lu design and teach this event together for children aged 6 to 12. It is a delightful time to explore the beauty and wonder of the natural world, discover the science behind it, and express our awe and gratitude for God's amazing creation through science, music, art, and literature.
